WISDOM TEETH
The name “wisdom teeth” comes from the notion that these teeth, your third and final molars, often don’t appear until adulthood when, at least in theory, people are more wise to the world.
But is it wise to remove the wisdom teeth? That depends. Not everybody gets wisdom teeth, but if they do, the teeth can frequently cause problems as they erupt.
Impacted wisdom teeth (this is when teeth are prevented from growing in) may cause pain and crowding of the other teeth. If wisdom teeth partially erupt, this can also cause crowding, as well as increase the risk of disease if the area isn’t kept properly cleaned.
Rutner Dental takes all of these factors and more into account to help you determine if wisdom teeth removal is the best course of action. Our primary concern is that you have a beautiful smile that works. We are skilled in the latest extraction techniques and materials so that wisdom teeth removal will be as comfortable, quick, and economical as possible.
